Terms of sale

Article 1 - Purpose

These terms govern the contractual relationship between Dakar VTC and its clients for the provision of private hire vehicle services with a driver.

Article 2 - Services

• Airport transfers (Blaise Diagne International Airport, AIBD)
• A car with a driver by the hour
• A car with a driver by the day
• Intercity journeys (Dakar to Saly, Dakar to Lac Rose and others)
• Vehicles for events

Article 3 - Fares

Fares are set in advance and communicated to the client before any booking. Unless stated otherwise, they include:

• The professional driver
• Fuel
• Toll charges
• Parking charges

The public price list, in force from 1 October 2026, is published including tax for private clients. A fare marked "from" is a starting fare: the exact amount is communicated before you book.

A booking is firm once Dakar VTC has confirmed it. Booking at least 24 hours ahead is recommended to guarantee availability.

Article 5 - Cancellation and changes

5.1 Cancellation by the client

• More than 24 h before: free
• Between 12 and 24 h before: 50% of the amount
• Less than 12 h before: 100% of the amount

5.2 Changes

Any change to a booking must be communicated as early as possible. Dakar VTC will do what it can to accommodate changes subject to availability.

Article 6 - Payment

• Bank card
• Wave or Orange Money
• PayPal
• Bank transfer
• Any other method agreed with Dakar VTC

6.1 Transfers and one-off services

Payment is due when you book. For some clients, and subject to prior agreement from Dakar VTC, payment can be made directly to the driver, on board.

6.2 Airport Pack

The Airport Pack covers 5 Dakar to AIBD transfers, usable in either direction, booked in advance. It is paid in full when you subscribe.

6.3 Car-and-driver hires and quoted services

A 50% deposit is due when the quote is approved, the balance on the day of the service at the latest, unless the quote sets out other terms.

Article 7 - Client obligations

• Provide accurate information when booking
• Be present at the agreed time and place
• Respect the vehicle and the driver
• Not smoke in the vehicle
• Not carry illicit substances

Article 8 - Liability

Dakar VTC undertakes to provide a quality service with vehicles in good condition and professional drivers. However, Dakar VTC cannot be held liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond its control (weather, exceptional traffic, road accidents and the like).

Article 9 - Insurance

All our vehicles are insured for carrying passengers in line with the regulations in force in Senegal. Passengers are covered in the event of an accident.

Article 10 - Complaints

Any complaint must be sent in writing to reservations@dakar-vtc.com within 48 hours of the service. Dakar VTC undertakes to reply as soon as possible.

Article 11 - Personal data

Personal data collected is used solely to manage bookings and is not shared with third parties. Under the law, you have a right to access and correct your data.

Article 12 - Governing law

These terms are governed by Senegalese law. In the event of a dispute, the courts of Dakar have sole jurisdiction.

Article 13 - Special conditions, Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026

This article applies to any trip carried out from 30 October to 14 November 2026, during the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026. Traffic is regulated in Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly: reserved lanes and exits, diversions, roads closed during events. Measures may change according to the authorities.

13.1 Booking and pick-up

• Booking recommended at least 48 hours in advance, by exception to the 24 hours in article 4.
• Departures to AIBD airport: pick-up at least 3H30 before the flight time.
• The client provides their flight number and exact address or location pin, and is ready at the confirmed pick-up time.

13.2 Timing adjustments

Depending on traffic conditions and decisions by the authorities, Dakar VTC may bring forward the pick-up time, including after confirmation. Any adjustment is communicated to the client before the trip.

If the client requests a later time than recommended, declines an adjustment or is not ready at the confirmed time, Dakar VTC cannot be held liable for a delay caused by traffic measures: closures, diversions, reserved lanes.

13.3 Flight delays and replacement

• Flight tracking included: the driver arrives according to the actual landing time of the flight.
• In case of a significant flight delay or unforeseen event, Dakar VTC may assign the trip to another driver or a selected partner, with a vehicle of equivalent category.
• For delays beyond our control (flight delays, traffic, decisions by the authorities), the liability of Dakar VTC is limited to the price of the trip. No compensation can be claimed for a missed flight or appointment. Travel insurance is recommended.
